feeding the 5000

That sounds very dramatic I know but sometimes being in charge of what everyone eats can become hard work and rather boring!!!

I thought I would share with you some kids lunch box ideas. For me it's all about variety Felix and Indie have hot dinners twice a week and packed lunch the other three. No one wants the same lunch every day, although if they had it their way they would always have a pack up. But I just don't have the organisational skills to make sure I have everything in!

I am no 'organic only' mum but I am always aware and trying to keep a bit of balance. I grew up on slam in the ham sandwiches and a Kit Kat a day never hurt anyone right? It's not like I've got a minor addiction or anything....

My lot have never been big on sandwiches when we're at home we often go for soup, beans on toast or scrambled egg!

In lunch boxes, I often go for rice cakes, favourite being the marmite ones! Wraps and brioche rolls, rather than bread are also a hit!

I always make sure I put in a couple of kinds of fruit or veg and those mini humous pots are a firm favourite! Like I said it's all about balance so I'll often pop in a sweeter treat like a pot of jelly, mine also like a cold custard...personally I can't imagine anything worse!!

Brioche are always a hit there's a massive variety you can check out on the Brioche Pasquier website. Mine particularly love the new pitch range which are all individually wrapped making for a perfect lunch box treat or after school snack, I'll definitely be stocking up in prep for back to school lunches.

If you have any different packed lunch ideas please share to prevent me from drifting to slam in the ham........
