As you may already know we have recently changed our living room flooring, the existing floor was actually a good quality wood, but it was over varnished, damaged in places and just not to our taste.
We didn’t really browse as such as we had very similar flooring to this fitted in the bridal boutique a few years ago. I was amazed at the quality and most importantly the durability of Amtico, Amtico is a luxury vinyl flooring which is designed and made in Britain. With its unbeatable wear layers and slip resistance this product really is made for the most demanding environments from a busy home to a bustling shop, Amtico Signature are so confident in their quality they offer a life time warranty.
I was lucky enough to get to work with Amtico on this project meaning they supplied the product and we financed the fit. From choosing the laying pattern to picking out a style and colour the team we’re incredibly helpful, they sent numerous samples to ensure we made the perfect choice for our space. We chose Cornish Oak in plank size laid in a herringbone pattern which retails at £70 per square meter.
I found a local Amtico fitter who spent two days in total laying the flooring at £800 which included supplying and laying plywood first. There is no drying time so once its fitted it can be walked on and furniture put straight back into place which made the whole process incredibly easy in a very busy household.
I’ve been blown away by the transformation this sleek flooring has brought to our living room, it feels so much lighter and has achieved my aim of creating a more contemporary room perfectly. As well as looking fabulous it is incredibly practical, a wood effect floor that you can mop is my kind of floor. Its water resistance means that Amtico can be used throughout the home from bathrooms to kitchens in various styles like wood or stone.
We have already decided we will be using Amtico throughout the downstairs of our home most likely in the same style to give a consistent flow, but maybe laid in a different pattern to add character.
